Shark Week And Social Media
As fans of Discovery Channel’s ‘Shark Week’ put on their shark fin hats and gather around the TV with their friends for the most anticipated week of the summer, execs are putting some final touches to make things a little more exciting.
Shark Week began utilizing Social Media only two years more than 26 million viewers in 2011 and 30.8 million in 2010 – its highest to date.
While recent hosts include Craig Ferguson and actor Andy Samberg, this years host is Philip DeFranco, star of The Philip DeFranco Show, a YouTube series produced by Revision3, an online video company acquired by Discovery last May.

Viewers that have an iPad can download the Discovery Shark Week Plus app and view behind the scenes commentary, videos and photos.
You can also view a live cam of the Shark Cam where you might catch them feeding the sharks.
